- Decide an overall theme and color scheme
- Plan an engagement photoshoot
- Start designing Save the Date cards
9-8 months out
- Start thinking about your Wedding Invitation suite ‘s needed items, design and feel
- Start designing your Bridal shower invitations (note: a bridal shower can happen anytime before the wedding but is traditionally done between 3 months and 3 weeks before the wedding)
6 months out
3-4 months out
- Finalize the design and order your Wedding Invitation suite (make sure to order 5 to 10% extras to account for unexpected guests)
8-10 weeks out
- Mail your Wedding Invitations (Tip: if you are having a destination wedding, mail them at least 15 weeks before the wedding) Your rsvp should be due one month before the wedding
- Start designing your Ceremony and reception items
4 weeks out
- Finalize your ceremony and reception items
2-6 weeks after the wedding
- Finalize and mail thank you cards
