PAPER OPTIONS
At Designed with Amore, our love for paper does not go unnoticed. We have experimented and tried hundreds of paper mills to find what give us the best result. Almost all our papers are made within the US and many contain recycled content. Most of our products are available in both white and ecru. White paper is bright, clean and crisp. Ecru paper is cream-colored paper, slightly darker than ivory. Both white and ecru are smooth and even with no variations in color – perfect for digital printing! We offer three main finishes: smooth, shimmer and textured. Each finish will enhance your artwork in a different way: a smooth finish is classic and elegant, a shimmer finish lends a nice glow and textured adds depth and interest.

PRINTING PROCESSES
DIGITAL PRINTING
Most of our semi custom designs are featured with digital printing, to ensure that we can offer an affordable yet unique design. The results are similar to what you’d get from a home laser printer, but we use a high quality in house professional printer, so you won’t wind up with the fading or smudging you might get from printing them yourself. Using a white toner, we are also able to print light ink colors onto dark paper stocks, which allow us to create stunning visual effects.
PAPER OPTIONS:
- Smooth (White, Ecru, Navy, Black) – 94 lb. | 115 lb. | 130 lb.
- Shimmery (White, Ecru, Silver, Black, Navy, Gold) – 105 lb.
- Textured (White) – 110 lb.
INK OPTIONS:
Text, graphic and artwork is 100% possible with digital print. Choose from over 50 colors below when customizing your design. Don’t see your wedding color? Let us know and we can work on custom font color, we can even create a customized wedding palette for you starting from any photo or image.
Digital printing can be combined with any of our specialty printing processes, such as foil, letterpress and thermography.
NOTE : Because all monitors display colors differently, your final prints may not match what you see on your screen. Please reference to our color printed chart when deciding on a color.
THERMOGRAPHY (raised ink)
Very similar to engraving, however the lettering is slightly shiny. Just like engraving, thermography has a much more formal look than digital printing. The ink is mixed with resinous powder to create a raised lettering. The ink is then fused onto the paper through a heat process.
PAPER OPTIONS:
- Smooth (White, Ecru) – 115 lb. | 130 lb.
- Shimmery (White, Ecru, Silver, Black, Navy, Gold) – 105 lb.
- Textured (White) – 110 lb.
INK OPTIONS:
Thermography work best when not combined with detailed multi-color artwork, but rather with vector linear designs. The color of the font and design is customizable (1 color is possible per design). Thermography printing can however be combined with digital printing, creating stunning visual effects. Thermography can also be combined with foil press (see below for details).
NOTE : Because all monitors display colors differently, your final prints may not match what you see on your screen.
FOIL STAMPING
The paper-like foil leaves a metallic design behind. Foil stamping complements a luxe, romantic wedding, but it’s also become increasingly popular for whimsical and casual invites. Very much similarly to the letterpress process, a heated plate (die) is used to push the foil into the paper, leaving an indent on the paper.
PAPER OPTIONS:
- Smooth (White, Ecru, Navy, Black) – 115 lb. | 130 lb.
- Smooth double thick (White) – 240 lb.
- Shimmery (White, Ecru, Silver, Black, Navy, Gold) – 105 lb.
- Textured (White) – 110 lb.
FOIL OPTIONS:
Foil stamping can be used to achieve stunning visual effects on darker papers. This printing method can be combined with any of our printing methods, and is the most flexible when it comes to paper options. See below the foil options that we offer.
NOTE : Because all monitors display colors differently, your final prints may not match what you see on your screen.
LETTERPRESS
The letters and artworks look indented on the front and slightly raised on the back of the invite. Letterpress is often used to achieve a traditional and classic look, but is also used to achieve modern tipography looks. the letters and artwork are etched in reverse onto a plate, the plate is then coated with ink and pressed onto the surface of the cardstock to produce an impression on the paper.
PAPER OPTIONS:
- Cotton (Fluorescent white, Pearl white) – 110 lb. | 220 lb.
- Colored stock (availability varies)
INK OPTIONS:
Letterpress work best when not combined with detailed multi-color artwork, but rather with vector linear designs. The color of the font and design is customizable (up to 2 colors can be added per design). Letterpress can however be combined with digital printing, creating stunning visual effects. Letterpress can also be combined with foil press (see below for details).
NOTE : Because all monitors display colors differently, your final prints may not match what you see on your screen.
