Name cards are used in 2 ways, as Escort cards and as Place cards. Escort cards normally are displayed close to the reception entrance; they have the guest name (or couple names) and table number, and are supposed to “escort” the guest to their table. Place cards are normally displayed at each table setting, with the guest name and sometime meal of choice, these are normally accompanied by a seating chart or seating arrangement to direct the guest to their table. Place cards are very useful with formal meals when meals of choice are required.
